Shirlet Marie Parks of Lubbock passed away on Friday, November 28, 2014 at the age of 68. She was born September 18, 1946 in St. Augustine, Texas to Ralph and Lerlean (Williams) Parks. Shirlet owned and operated Doo-Drop Inn Restaurant in Seagraves during the late 1970s. Shirlet is most known for radiating the love of Jesus in her life and to those she met. She was a daily reader of God's Word and continued to keep the faith even until her passing.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Stelvie Lee Parks and Bobby Eugene Parks, both of Hobbs, New Mexico and Justin Tramaine Lewis of Lubbock; three sisters, Ruby Mae McDaniel, Shirley Jean Griffin, and Wanda Jean Anderson; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends she considered her family.
Shirlet was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kenny James Parks; siblings, Katherine Joiner and T.L. Dennis; and life partner of more than 20 years, Terry Wayne Goree.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends 4:30-6:00 and a prayer service will begin at 6:00 p.m. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Seagraves with interment to follow at Gaines County Cemetery.
