Simon R. Garcia

Simon R. Garcia of Lubbock passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023.  He was born October 8, 1946 in Acuff, Texas to Patricia and Miguel Garcia who both have preceded him in death.  He has lived in Lubbock all of his life having retired as a truck driver.

He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, loved to work in his yard, loved working and looking at old hot rods, enjoyed listening to music and dancing.  He attended Christ the King Cathedral.  He married Sally Arguello on November 23, 1968, in Lubbock.

He is survived by his wife, Sally of Lubbock; his children, Cynthia Ann Garcia of Lubbock, Michael Timothy Garcia of Lubbock, Gina Garcia of Austin, and Eric James Garcia of Lubbock; a niece that he raised as his daughter, Sara Aguirre; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  His brothers and sisters, Victor Garcia of Lubbock, Mike Garcia of LaFeria, Texas, Albert Garcia of Lubbock, Jesse Garcia of Lubbock, Maya Calderon of Lubbock and Mary Lou Flores of Idalou.

Visitation will be at the Venue on Broadway Tuesday, February 7, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, the Rosary will be at 6:00 PM.  The funeral mass will be on Wednesday, February 8, at 10:30 AM at Christ the King Cathedral, 4011 54th Street, Lubbock, TX .
