Stephen Wesley Sanford, 59, of Meadow, TX joined his heavenly family on January 31, 2022. He was born on June 20, 1962, in Windsor, Nova Scotia, Canada, to the late Ralph and Gloria (Rhodes) Sanford. He attended Hants West Rural High in Brooklyn, Nova Scotia, Canada. His early career began as a carpenter, but he ended his career as a plumber. His greatest joy was being Beepee (and Grampy) to his three grandchildren.
Steve never met a stranger and could always be found telling jokes and singing as he worked. He was very passionate about his work and took pride in doing a good job and being neat. He loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was an amazing cook and made the best creamed peas on toast. Steve was fiercely protective of anyone or anything he loved and was the first to help anyone in need. He loved to travel and had been to every province and territory in Canada and had been to the majority of the US.
He met Sherry Williams in 1999 in Texas and they were married on August 4, 2002, at the Avondale Wharf in Avondale, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sherry; daughters, Mary Sanford (Courtney Newton) and Mariah Sanford, both of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada; step-daughters (but loved as if they were his own), Sondra Kennimer (Joshua) of Meadow, TX and Marisa Sanders (JW) of Brownfield, TX; cherished grandsons, Caiden and Colton Kennimer of Meadow, TX and precious granddaughter, Shayah Johnson- Sanford, of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada; brother, Vernon Sanford (Anna) of Ellershouse, Nova Scotia, Canada; sisters, Ruth Fiddick of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, Elaine Maclellan (Joe) of Sackville, Nova Scotia, Canada, Rhoda Dunbar (Grant) and Margaret Sanford of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada; step-mother, Debbie Sanford of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada; numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly; and close family friends, Melissa Hallyburton of Geelong, Victoria, Australia, and Reg Lyon of Poplar Grove, Nova Scotia, Canada, Family meant the world to Steve.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Sanford and Gloria Spencer; brothers, Paul Sanford and Graham Sanford; great-niece, Haley Wheaton; and parents-in-law, Larry and Mary Williams. He was also preceded by his most beloved pets, Sadie and Max.
A celebration of life will be held in Nova Scotia, Canada at a future date to be determined.
