Steven Mark Gutierrez,

 50 years of age

December 30,1972- December 10,2023

He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas and lived in Lubbock, Texas since 1987, and lived here his whole life. He attended Lubbock High School where he graduated in 1991. He attended South Plains College and received his Associates in 2009. He also attended Wayland Baptist University, where he got his Bachelors in 2010 and Masters Degree in 2013 in Psychology. Lastly, was attending Texas Tech University, where he was working on receiving his Doctorates Degree for Psychology.

October 28th, 2016 is when he married his caring, loving wife Johnna Gutierrez. He loved all 9 of his children, and all 8 of his Grandchildren. In his free time, Steven loved to play guitars, listen/ make music to post for others to hear and get joy from. He loved to barbecue on the weekends (if the weather permitted lol), play table games with family on friday nights, and liked having his grandkids over so they could eat all his favorite snacks. Steven started his mornings at 5:45 bright eyed and bushy tailed just to get to work early to start his day. Counseling, talking to people, and helping others was his passion and what he longed to do in his lifetime. If he wasn't talking to clients in his office, he would have heart to hearts with his own children at any time they felt the need to vent or when they felt like things got hard they knew they could talk to him. He was a great listener when someone just wanted to vent to get things off of their chest. He was a loving and caring person, and was always a phone call away regardless of the time of day it was. Steven would always give to others no matter if he had it for himself or not. Steven loved getting together with his friend Tony, and when they would get together they would have jam sessions and just play all kinds of different guitars and would record music.

Steven is Survived by his spouse Johnna Gutierrez, Mother- Elisa Gutierrez, Brother- Gilbert Gutierrez (Debbie Gutierrez, and 2 daughters Krystal and Alyssa Gutierrez, 1 Great Niece and 2 Great Nephews) and his children Marina (Jacob Mendoza, Amberly, Avery, and Isabella), Joshua (Cashmaire, Jr, Angel, Faithy, and Journiely), Quira (Gio (Hulk)) Blake, Sebastian, Kennalea, and Liahna.

Steven is preceded in death by his father Gilbert Gutierrez and Brother Joel Gutierrez whose living spouse is Abby Gutierrez, as well as their children Jordynn, Jacob, Nikole, and Maritza.

Steven was currently Employed at the Larry Combest Health and Wellness Center- Combest Central.
