Steven Charles Mason

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Steven Charles Mason, 40, of Lubbock, on March 12, 2025. Steven has gone to be with his beloved parents, Dennis “Pops” and Dana Lynne Mason.

A lifelong Lubbock resident, Steven’s warmth and vibrant spirit touched everyone he met. He leaves behind his heartbroken wife, Kara Jean Mason, whom he affectionately referred to as his woman, his brother Cory Mason, his cherished nephew Sammy Mason, and a vast community of friends and family who loved him dearly.

Steven’s love for the outdoors was profound. He found solace and joy in camping and fishing, but it was in the hunting fields, side by side with Kara Jean, and all his hunting buddies where he created the most cherished memories. Beyond the outdoors, Steven possessed a deep passion for all things automotive, particularly car racing. He loved the thrill of the track and the roar of the engines. This passion extended to his enjoyment of RC cars, where he spent countless hours tinkering and racing, finding joy in the precision and control.

Always the life of the party, Steven had a knack for finding humor in any situation, and his laughter was a constant presence. Even now, he'd be grinning and saying, "Brad, come on, you know you started the plum fight!" His natural charisma and ability to connect with people made him a successful salesman, first at O’Reilly Auto Parts and later at TASCO Auto Color.

Among the many cherished memories, the family trips to visit Cory at his various military postings held a special place in Steven's heart, filled with laughter, adventure, and the everlasting bond of brotherhood. Steven’s laughter and presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

The family of  Steven Charles Mason will honor his life with a graveside service at 2:00pm, March 25, 2025, at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park, with Ron Bartley officiating.
