Steve J. Webb, 74, passed away December 30, 2022, at home with his wife, in Lubbock, TX. Steve was born July 19, 1948, to H.E. and Marie (McGee) Webb, in Lubbock, TX. Steve attended Cooper High School. He later married Valerie and they had their son Chad Webb. His second marriage was to Dianne Chamberlain, in October of 1996.
Steve served his county, enlisting in the United States Army in January of 1969; he reached the rank of E-5 while serving in the Vietnam War. In the short time he served, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Medal with 2 bronze service stars, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, the Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Commendation Medal, and the Bronze Star Medal with V-Device. Steve was given an Honorable Discharge in October 1970.
Steve went on to become a Journeyman Electrician; he was a HARD worker, devoted to his career, working in this trade until his passing. Steve was the pinnacle of his generation, “work hard, don't complain and make sure your family, and friends have everything they need.” Steve was of the Christian faith. He cherished his marriage to Dianne (“he was my soul-mate and the love of my life”), loved his family, and always put them first. Steve held friendships in high regard, had a humanitarian spirit, had an amazing sense of humor, and enjoyed pulling your chain. His hobbies and loves included motocross, skiing, classic cars and trucks, Barret Jackson Auctions, NHRA drag racing, NASCAR, and horse racing.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, H.E. Webb (2002), his son Chad Webb (2007), and a niece Katrina Webb (1994). He is survived by his wife Dianne Webb, his mother Marie Webb, sons, Matthew and Kutter Webb; a brother - Danny Webb, his grandchildren- Brittney, Kaislee, and Evangeline Webb; great-grandchildren- Blain and Tatum Herington; his sister-in-law Christine Palmer; daughter-in-law Nikki Webb, and his niece Katlyn Kelly.
The Family of Steve Webb, will honor his life, by having a funeral service Thursday, January 5, 2022, at 2:00PM, at Highland Baptist Church, 4316 34th street, Lubbock. A visitation will be held, prior to the funeral service, beginning at 1:00PM; with burial following, the funeral service, at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery, Woodrow.
