Susie P. Ortiz Olivarez

Susie P. Ortiz Olivarez of Lubbock, TX went to be with our Lord on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the age of 61.  She was born on December 10, 1951 in Lubbock, TX to Francisco and Josefa (Pena) Ortiz.  Susie graduated from Lubbock High School in May, 1970 and pursued her education in nursing obtaining her license as a Registered Nurse in which she served for 40 years.  She worked diligently and dedicated her last five years to her hospice patients at Cuidado Casero Home Health.  She enjoyed caring for her patients and took pride in helping others.  Susie married Edward Olivarez on March 13, 1970 and they are members of Ministerio Nueva Vida.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Edward Olivarez, and their children, Eric Olivarez and wife Barbara and Je'May Olivarez, all of Lubbock, TX; four grandchildren, Ashley Azua, Isaac Marin, Erica and Noe Olivarez; four brothers, Gilberto Ortiz of San Antonio, TX, Juan Ortiz, Reynaldo Ortiz and wife Abigail, and Joe Ortiz and wife Lupe, all of Lubbock, TX; and three sisters, Marina Gomez and husband Manuel and Ernestina Torrez and husband Pedro, all of Lubbock, TX and Mary Villarreal and husband Billy Joe of Floydada, TX.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ofelia Hernandez; and brother, Victor Ortiz.

Viewing will be on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Ministerio Nueva Vida, 201 N. Boston in Lubbock, with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2013 at Ministerio Nueva Vida with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
