Terecie Ann Johnson

March 13, 1956 — January 22, 2025

Lubbock

Terecie Ann Johnson was born to the late Herman and Velma Johnson, the ninth of nine children. She inherited a rich legacy of faith, family character, music and leadership from her father and exhibited character from her grandmother Lucy Johnson who shared with her a lifetime of inspiration, passions, family history and unconditional love.

Terecie worked as a Paralegal in various Law Firms and the District Attorney's office in Austin Texas in her earlier years. She was employed by the Akin Gump Law Firm in Houston Texas and later returned to the Austin Area before retiring and returning to her home here in Lubbock.

Terecie leaves a legacy of love to her sons, Natrieon Johnson [ Dramika], Alton Hunter [Michelle], four beautiful granddaughters, Candice, Taylor Brittner [Sam], Kenadi and Mikenzie; two very awesome great grandchildren, Trinity and Triston; brother, Herman H. Johnson [ Bobbie] and three sisters, Dorothy Upshaw, Shirley Johnson and Corine Johnson-Sinegal [ Joseph] ; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, two brothers, Billy Joe Johnson, and Billy Ray Johnson: three sisters, Cora Jefferson, Sandra Babers and Maxine King.

In our sorrow let us all draw strength from her remarkable example. Affection, love, admiration along with deep respect which defined her. Her humor and her willingness to see the best in others was very inspirational to all who knew her. The loss of her we will forever feel but as long as we live, she will live in all our hearts and minds.

A message of gratitude:

To those who were fortunate to share her amazing journey, forever cherish those memories. To all who reached out to our family at this difficult time, in love, prayers or any other generosity of time, talent or resources, we extend our profound appreciation.
