Terry Motley, 62, of Spade, Texas, passed away in Lubbock on Wednesday evening, July 24, 2024. Terry was born on December 28, 1961, in Hale Center, Hale County, Texas, to George Lee Roy Motley and the late Catherine (Worthington) Motley.
Terry attended Abernathy High School, where he graduated with the senior class of 1981.
Terry was a hard working man, who lived life to the fullest. He worked alongside his father for many years, before becoming a truck driver. He drove for several companies including Spade Trucking and Jeffcoat Farms, most recently, in Smyer. At one time, he worked for Morrison Supply Company in Lubbock. He loved to be outdoors, going hunting and fishing every time he had a chance to.
Those left to honor and cherish Terry’s life and memory include one son, Rowdy Motley of Midland; his father, Lee Roy Motley of Spade; his sister, Tammy Owen of Spade; two stepdaughters: Savannah Johnson of Pflugerville and Lanya Johnson of Arizona; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 3, 2024, in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel of Combest Family Funeral Home, 2210 Broadway, in Lubbock. Reverend Joel Perez, of Northside Baptist Church in Abernathy, will be the officiant. Cremation arrangements and memorial services are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
Terry’s family is graciously asking those who want to remember him, that in lieu of flowers to please consider donating to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in Dallas, 2222 Welborn Street, Dallas, TX 75219, or to a charity of ones choosing.
