Tim "Screech" Atwood

Tim “Screech” Atwood, 51, of Lubbock, passed away tragically on Wednesday evening, October 12, 2022.  Screech was born on December 6, 1970, in Snyder, Scurry County, Texas, to Vicki (Horsley) Craig and the late Billy Tim Atwood.

He attended Snyder High School, graduating in 1988.

Tim met Jessica Robbins, and they were united in marriage on December 15, 2018, in Lubbock.

Tim worked as a caregiver in various nursing homes during his life.  Currently, he worked as a painter the last 7 years for Charles Hargrove and Associates.  He loved to ride his motorcycle, smoke pork butts and turkey, and loved to feed people.  Tim never met a person that didn’t become his friend, as he had an outgoing personality.  He was a family man at heart, who loved to erve and help his fellow man.  One of his main priorities and love was of his one-year-old son, Isaac Lee, whom he thoroughly adored.  He was a member of Lubbock’s Refuge Church.

He leaves behind his companion and wife, Jessica, of Lubbock; two sons, Isaac Lee Atwood of Lubbock and Nathaniel Reeves of Texas; one daughter, Ashley Atwood of Alabama; his siblings, Dan Craig of Oklahoma, Amy Craig Carroll of Virginia, Coty Atwood of New York, Cherokee Atwood Stewart of Texas, and Cheyenne Atwood of Texas; and his mother, Vicki Craig of Del City, Oklahoma.  He was preceded in death by his father; his stepdad who raised him, Jerry Craig; his daughter, Emilie Danyelle Atwood; and his grandparents, Ches and Dean Horsley of Snyder TX; Bill and Claudine Atwood of Snyder, TX; Earnest and Odis Craig of Snyder, TX.

Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the Refuge Church, 4308 58th Street, in Lubbock with Pastor Brian K. Malloy officiating.  Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.

The family requests that no flowers be sent, but that memorial donations in Screech’s memory be made to the Refuge Church, 4308 58th, Lubbock, TX 79413 or to the Messenger’s, 1702 Baylor Street, Lubbock, TX 79415.
