Tom Ed Reynolds, 80, of Lubbock passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021 after a lengthy illness. Private graveside services are to be held at Lubbock Cemetery where he will be interred next to his father and mother.
Tom Ed Reynolds was born in Lubbock on Oct. 31, 1941, to Ed and Naomi Reynolds of Acuff. Given his birth on Halloween, he was affectionately called "pumpkin" by his mom. Tom Ed attended Roosevelt High School where he played basketball and was named Most Athletic and Most Popular. His interest in sports continued with his life-long devotion to the Dallas Cowboys. Other favorite pursuits were camping in Colorado with friends and family; watching documentaries on history, science, and nature; and spending time with his rescue pooch Cotton.
Following graduation from Roosevelt, Tom Ed attended Texas Tech University before joining his father to farm cotton in the Acuff community. He married Charlotte Pollock of Lorenzo on June 2, 1961, and together they raised their two sons, Eddie and Blake, in Acuff. Tom Ed farmed for several decades and served on the board of McClung Coop Gin in Midway. He moved to Lubbock in 1985 and was married to Marilyn Carol Watts from 1993 to 2011. Tom Ed was a long-time member of Trinity Church.
Tom Ed is survived by his son, Blake Reynolds; daughter-in-law, Marjorie; and grandson, Joel of Lubbock; his son, Ed Reynolds and son-in-law Brad Mayer of Seattle; his former wife and lifelong friend, Charlotte Park of Lubbock; his sister-in-law, Anisse Reynolds of Lubbock; his nephews, Jeff Reynolds of Dallas and Greg Reynolds of Lubbock; and his long-time friends, Terica Reasoner Starkes and Terry Rucker, both of Lubbock.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Naomi Reynolds; and his brother, Joe Jack Reynolds.
