Tony Flores Guerrero of Lubbock left his family and friends on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the age of 61. He was born June 14, 1963, in Littlefield to John and Mary (Flores) Guerrero, Sr. At a young age, the family moved to Wolfforth where Tony graduated from Frenship High School. During his high school years, Tony was known as “the beast” and even “touchdown Tony”. He set many records and in the later years, his football jersey was put on display with all his accomplishments.
After graduating, Tony joined the United States Army and after honorable discharge, he continued in the reserve serving during the Gulf War. Tony was a caring, giving and loving servant. He felt called to join Lubbock Fire and Rescue in the 1990’s. After 30 years of service, he retired in December of 2022 as the Battalion Chief.
When not working, Tony had a passion for college sports, both football and basketball. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Lisa and spending quality time with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lisa; children, Chris Guerrero and wife Sarah of Nacogdoches, Sam Ramos of Lubbock, and Sonya Garcia and husband Tony of Lubbock; six siblings; five grandchildren, Gus, Olivia, Sadie, Aaron, and Matthew; and his beloved dog, Bella.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents; three siblings; and one son, Trey.
Memorials services are scheduled for 10:00 am Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Church on the Rock South Campus.
