Tony Joe Soliz

Tony Joe Soliz of Idalou passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the age of 75.  He was born December 14, 1938 in Rotan to Frank and Susie (Carreon) Soliz.  Tony worked as a farmer and later as a truck driver.   He married Lupe Jordan on March 14, 1959.  Tony was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church and the Cursillistas.  

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Lupe; son, David Soliz of Idalou; daughters, Sylvia Nunez of Lubbock and Nancy Olivarez of Idalou; brother, Manuel Soliz of Sweetwater; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

 Tony was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Laura Irving; and two brothers, Gilbert and Frank Soliz.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Combest Family Funeral Homes in Idalou. Rosary will be cited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at St. Phillip Benizi Catholic Church.  Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at St. Phillip Benizi Catholic Church with interment to follow at the Idalou Cemetery.
