Tonya Halbrooks Ritchey

Tonya (Halbrooks) Ritchey, 56, passed away September 27, 2023, in Monahans, TX. She was born April 26, 1967, to Danny Halbrooks and Joyce Pace, in Andrews, TX. Tonya spent her years as a homemaker, raising 3 beautiful kids, and spending time with a handful of grandkids. She enjoyed cars, trucks, music, playing cards, her pets, and “being a part of the party!”

A special note to Tonya, from Krista: My mother was very easy-going, hide it all inside, until it really counted. She enjoyed the company of the people that loved her in return. The most wonderful memory I have is roaring laughter from my grandma Linda’s kitchen while they were playing cards. She was very up-front with people; a, take me or leave me as I am, kind of person. She loved hard, through the good and the bad in people, she loved them. My mother, Tonya, was a unique Lady; “Thank you for your help.”  

Tonya was preceded in death by Danny Halbrooks, Joyce Pace, Regina Halbrooks, Danny W. Halbrooks (Danny Red), David Wiley, Maly Halbrooks, and Linda Weldy. Those left to cherish her memories are Elizabeth Lawson, Vernon Ritchey, Jr., Krista Pippin, Sheila Forrest, and Jimmy Weldy.

Tonya’s family will honor and celebrate her life with a memorial gathering at 5:00PM, Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Rudy Park 100 S Leon Ave, Monahans, Tx 79756. According to Tonya’s wishes, cremation has taken place, under the direction of Harkey Funeral Home and Combest Funeral Homes and Crematory.
