Wallace Andrew Combest of Snyder passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the age of 79.  He was born May 2, 1935 in Clarendon, Texas to William Hill and Mabel (Fowler) Combest.  He married Bobbie Reed on December 22, 1957 before joining the U.S. Army Tank Corp where he served two tours of duty.  Wallace served two years in Germany and again during the Berlin crisis.  After honorable discharge in 1963, he attended Sul Ross University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in industrial technology and later his Masters of Education.  The couple moved to Snyder in 1966 where he taught 27 of his 36 years before retiring.  He was a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association, life member of TSTA, and served as a deacon and elder at 37th Street Church of Christ.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 57 years, Bobbie; son, Kevin Combest and wife Tonya of Lubbock; daughters, Debra Graham and Janna Davis and husband Barry, all of Snyder; brother, William Combest and wife Debbi; sisters, Helen Gilliam and husband Eugene and Barbara Miller and husband Rodney; grandchildren, Wes and wife Kim, Riley and wife Ali, Brady and fiancé Ashley, Brandon, Karlee, and Lance; and great-granddaughter, Kyler.

Wallace was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Jaret.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home in Snyder with the family receiving friends 5:30-7:30 p.m.  Private graveside services will be held with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 37th Street Church of Christ in Snyder.
