Welda Walls Shipman

Nelda Walls Shipman of Jal, New Mexico departed this life on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in Lubbock, Texas at the age of 63.  She was born December 5, 1950 in Jal to W. A. “Doc” and Faye Walls. Nelda resided most of her life in Jal.  Her passion in life was golfing and the socialization there with.   She also enjoyed cooking for the family, country music, traveling, and playing the casinos.  Nelda was a co-founder of the annual Jal Gal Fest Golf Tournament Fundraiser sponsored through the Jal Country Club for the benefit of breast cancer awareness.

Those left to cherish her memory are her significant other of 14 years Ward Alan Goldschmidt and brothers, Robert Arthur (R.A.), Gayland, and Roy Lee Walls.

Nelda was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Carldean and John W. Walls.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church in Jal, New Mexico.
