William (Bill) Edwin Miller passed away April 7, 2025, in Lubbock, TX. He was born June 23, 1938, to Raymond Henry and Clara Elizabeth (Angerer) Miller, in Slaton, TX. Bill attended both St Joseph’s and Slaton High School, before volunteering for the United States Army. He served one tour of duty in Germany.
Bill married Dorothy Jasper in 1964, and to this union, they have 2 children, Jim and Craig. He had a second marriage, with Bennye Clifton in 1982, remaining married until his death.
Bill proudly worked as a ground’s keeper at Texas Tech University for 30+ years. Upon retiring from Texas Tech University, Bill gave his time to the Salvation Army, ringing bells at Christmas time, helping others in need during times of disaster, and attending church at the Salvation Army Church, Lubbock. He was a Christian at heart and enjoyed cooking.
Bill was preceded in death by his father and mother, Raymond and Clara, Freddy Miller (Viet Nam 1968), Pauline (Missouri 2014), Jerry (Abilene 2023), and Bobby (Lubbock 2023). Those remaining to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy are, his wife Bennye Miller of Lubbock, their 2 sons, Jim Miller of Denver, CO., and Craig Miller of San Antonio, TX., 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, his siblings, Mary Roye of Slaton, Richard Miller of Lubbock, TX., and Glen Miller of Slaton, TX.
The family of Willian Edwin Miller will honor and celebrate his life with a memorial service at 2:00PM, Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Salvation Army Chapel, 1111 16th St, Lubbock, TX 79401, with Jesse Zapata officiating.
