William (Wes) Wesley Engram passed away May 23, 2024, in Lubbock, TX. He was born August 9, 1942, to John Wesley and Hazel Louise (White) Engram, in Texico, NM. Wes spent his formative years as a Texico Wolverine, participating in FFA, Band, and Basketball. He enjoyed farming in his early years and went on to pursue many other ventures in his life, including Deco Plants, Amarillo Pump Co., ABC Massage, and Curves for Women. His strong family ties kept him returning to the Texas Panhandle area.
Wes married Joy Peavler in July 1996. Together, they enjoyed church functions, being with family, volunteering at the South Plains Food Bank, relaxing retreats to the family cabin in Ruidoso, and traveling. Wes, a country boy at heart, loved two-stepping, playing games with family (with his usual shenanigans), a cold Dr. Pepper, and ice cream with the grandkids.
Wes was preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Louise Engram, and a son, Will Engram. Those remaining to cherish his memories are his wife, Joy of Lubbock, TX., his son, David (Crystal) Engram of Wichita, KS., a daughter Sherice (Bob) Barndt of Midland, TX., 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, a sister, Lynelle (Keith) Glaze of Lubbock, TX., and a brother, Tim Engram of Texico, NM.
The family of Wes Engram will honor and celebrate his life with a memorial service at 10:30AM, Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Combest Family Memorial Chapel, 2210 Broadway Lubbock, TX 79401. In lieu of flowers, and to honor the life of Wes, the family requests donations be made to the South Plains Food Bank at www.spfb.org.
