Zechariah Cane Gonzales

Zechariah Cane Gonzales of Lubbock, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the age of 21. He was born July 30, 2003, in Lubbock to John and Marisela (Hinojos) Gonzales. Zechariah has always been a very competitive individual, excelling in both basketball and football. After graduating from Lorenzo high school in 2021, he attended Wayland Baptist University to continue his education and athletics.

He was a successful salesman in his position at Gene Messer Ford, due to his humble, genuine and humorous nature. He will be remembered for the laughs he shared, and the love he gave so freely. Zechariah truly never met a stranger.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, John and Marisela Gonzales of Lubbock; brothers, Jeremiah Gonzales and Aaron Gonzales and fiancé Brianna, all of Lubbock; maternal grandmother, Maria Hinojos of Lorenzo; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Zechariah was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Isaias Hinojos; paternal grandparents, Julian and Lydia Gonzales; and cousin, Christopher Hinojos.

A visitation will be held Monday, December 9, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Redbud Baptist Church with burial to follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
